Type Rating Courses For Maintenance Engineers

These Type Rating courses are approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM). They are designed to certify Aircraft Maintenance Engineers with the knowledge and skills to maintain specific aircraft.

Mandatory Courses

Air Legislation
Initial and Recurrent

The purpose of this course is to ensure aviation personnel understand the regulatory framework of national and international authorities, their roles, and the material guidances they provide. Students should be able to understand fundamentals of airworthiness requirements as it forms the basis of aircraft maintenance.

Refresher training is mandatory for all personnel at the interval of 24 months.

 

Safety Management Systems
Initial and Recurrent

This course goes over the importance of Safety Management Systems in aviation and its role in improving operational efficiency and maintaining aviation safety. Elements of safety policy and objectives, safety risk management, safety assurance, and safety promotion as per ICAO guidelines and CAAM Airworthiness Notices will be discussed along with examples of occurrence reporting within the aviation environment.

Referesher training is mandatory for all personnel at the interval of 24 months.

Human Factors
Initial and Recurrent

The purpose of this course is to ensure the principle of human factors are known and applied in the aviation industry. Human errors can be avoided and minimized, keeping the aircraft maintenance environment safe and conducive to work in.

Refresher training is mandatory for all personnel at the interval of 24 months.

Electrical Wiring and Interconnecting System
Initial and Recurrent

The purpose of this course is to enable personnel who perform wiring systems maintenance to understand and improve their knowledge in regards to the requirements of continued airworthiness in the field of electrical wiring interconnection systems. Our EWIS training is specially catered for Target Group 1 and 2 in accordance with EASA AMC 20-21, 20-22 and 20-23.

Refresher training is mandatory for all personnel at the interval of 24 months.

Fuel Tank Safety Phase 1
Initial and Recurrent

This is an introductory course that goes over the importance of observing Fuel Tank Safety (FTS) by using theoretical, historical, and practical elements of FTS and Critical Design Configuration Control Limitations (CDCCL).

Refresher training is mandatory for all personnel at the interval of 24 months.

Fuel Tank Safety Phase 2
Initial and Continuation Training

Initial training for certifying personnel on the importance of keeping and observing fuel tank safety. The course covers history, theoretical and practical elements of Fuel Tank Safety (FTS) / Critical Design Configuration Control Limitations (CDCCL) in order to plan, perform, supervise, inspect and certify the maintenance of aircraft and fuel system components.

Refresher training is mandatory for all personnel at the interval of 24 months.

Regulatory Courses

Introduction to Part M

To understand the function and purpose of Part M regulations as per CAAM Airworthiness Notices 6101 and 6102. This course will explore the concept of Part M, the associated responsibilities of the owner/operator, and the relationship between Part M and Part 145/Part 147/Part 21 organizations.

Introduction to Part 145

To understand function and purpose of Part 145 organizations as per CAAM Airworthiness Notices 6501 and 6502. This course will discuss the responsibilities of Part 145 organizations in maintaining aircraft and the duties of certifying personnel.

Radio Telephony

This course is intended to ensure communication between pilots and ground personnel is carried out smoothly using ICAO standardized phraseology for all situations for which it has been specified. The information and instructions transmitted are of vital importance in the safe and expeditious operation of aircraft.

Introduction to Part 66

To understand the requirements and function of Part 66 Certifying Personnel-Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License as per CAAM Airworthiness Notice 1201. This course will explore the need of Part 147 and it’s role in producing certifying staff and its compliance matrix to Part 66.

Introduction to Part 147

To understand the function and purpose of Part 147 as per CAAM Airworthiness Notice 1201. This course will explore the need of Part 147 and it’s role in producing certifying staff and its compliance matrix to Part 66.

Train the Practical Instructor and Assessor

This course is designated for aircraft maintenance instructors to be aware of latest revisions of regulations, practical skills, human factors and the latest training techniques and associated training procedures appropriate to the knowledge being trained or examined.

Train the Knowledge Examiner

This course is designated for aircraft maintenance knowledge examiner to be familiar with the examination process, the training and assessment processes along with the latest revisions of regulations, practical skills, and human factors.

Engineering Management & Professional Courses

Part M Implementations

To understand and manage Part M organizations as per regulations and CAAM Airworthiness Notices 6101 and 6102. This course will explore in detail the concept of Part M, the associated responsibilities of the owner/operator, and the relationship between Part M and Part 145/Part 147/Part 21 organizations.

Part M Maintenance Planning

This course is targeted at authority surveyors and all industry personnel involved with the Production Planning Department (Planners, Scheduler, Technical Record, Publication) with the responsibility of, or authority for, delivering, implementing, receiving or managing planning department. This includes management representatives too.

Part M Airworthiness Record

Define and understand the regulatory requirement and work process of Airworthiness Records Keeping under Continuing Airworthiness Management Organizations (CAMO).

Part 145 Implementations

To understand the function of,  and manage, Part 145 organizations as per CAAM Airworthiness Notices 6501 and 6502. This course will discuss in detail the responsibilities of Part 145 organizations in maintaining aircraft and the duties of certifying personnel.

Part 21 Airworthiness Certifications

This training is intended to focus on the essential elements to provide a comprehensive understanding of the entire Design Organization/Production Organization Process and provide a detailed understanding of Aviation Product Design and Production regulatory driven processes under Part 21 approval.

Train The Trainer

This course is designated for delegates to be professional trainers, one who has effective presentation and facilitation skills by optimizing training techniques and environments. Training sessions include a short presentation to ensure participants practice their delivery and build up confidence.

Audit Technique

This course aims to provide knowledge and competencies needed to enable delegates to manage, plan, conduct and report a wide range of aviation audits in support of regulatory compliance and continued organisation improvement.

Production Planning – Check Package Evaluation and Quotation Training

This course is designed to prepare attendees with the fundamental knowledge in evaluating, compiling and studying in detail check packages. Attendees will be able to produce check package man hours, cost estimation, tooling details,  facilities requirements, planning proper aircraft check timeline, and Gantt chart plotting.
